She is a stickler for rules and James seems to bend them at every opportunity. She sends him scathing letters anonymously. Then her friend Amelia invites both James and Willow to a dinner party and the fun begins. James knows that Willow is the author of the anonymous letters when she repeats a sentence from the last one he received. He challenges her to join him in solving his next case. Since Willow belongs to the London Ladies' Amateur Sleuth Society, she feels she is up to the challenge. After a photographer is murdered and the evidence starts pointing to Willow's mother, she's even more motivated to solve the case. As they work together, Willow finds herself falling in love with James but knows she can't marry. Her father is older and her mother, who has episodes of childlike behavior, will need someone to take care of her. James can't seem to keep his mind off Willow either. As they attempt to solve the murder, James also tries to work out how to win Willow as his wife. Tempted at Every Turn is a historical mystery with charming characters. Both leads seem stubborn and watching them fall in love is a delight. Robyn DeHart has created a keeper with a historical suspense that not only keeps you on your toes but is amusing as well.
