They embraced the children, but the adult Psy are closely watched, especially Judd. He's mastered dozens of ways to kill, including with his mind, which make him a deadly opponent. But when one of the SnowDancers' own is taken by a serial killer, Judd is the only one able to rescue Brenna Kincaid from certain death. Brenna's violation was not only physical, but also psychological. It has left her unable to shift to wolf form. Only through Judd's clinical insights and his analytical understanding of how the Psy mind works and manipulates others, is she able to accept what's happened to her and begin to heal. Eventually she realizes the unthinkable - she's fallen in love with Judd. But how will she ever convince a man whose brutal training punished him for feeling any sort of emotion, that what they have is special and that they are meant to be mated for life? This vividly written and innovative paranormal series gets better with each installment. The highly emotional changelings versus the machinations of ice cold Psy makes for an intriguing contrast. Singh ups the ante by carefully unraveling a few more secrets surrounding the inner workings of the Psy's tightly controlled dominion, as well as more dark conspiracies they initiate against the various Changlings clans. She also introduces shadowy rebels hiding within the Psy ranks who are intent on toppling those sinister plans and the very structure of the Psy mind set. Judd Lauren is Singh's most fascinating character to date, a cold and formidable assassin whose background and very nature is in sharp contrast to the determined Changling who ultimately sparks his buried and often deadly emotions. Caressed By Ice delivers increasingly inventive world building, intrigue-filled plotting, and a complicated and satisfying love story - and will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment.
