H
arley Jane Kozak is back with her third mystery starring that irrepressible greeting card composer/amateur sleuth Wollie Shelley (named for Mary Wollenscroft Shelley). An ex-boyfriend dies under suspicious circumstances. Her bosom buddy Joey tended the man during his last days and since he left her an expensive painting and he died of a gunshot wound to the head, Joey becomes the number one suspect. When Joey's husband turns up dead also, she is really in a pickle.
J
oey, an ex-soap opera queen, takes to her heels to escape the police as well as the paparazzi. Wollie spends her time running here and there to prove Joey's innocence. In the meantime, Wollie is asked to leave her FBI boyfriend's apartment without any explanation but he wants her to know that he loves her.
W
ollie reels from one place to another as the storyline reels right along with her. Kozak's sense of humor blooms on every page along with her romantic streak. No matter the impediment that is placed in Wollie's way, she digs right in to find a solution, which adds to the enjoyment. It's a delightful series that this time goes behind the scenes of soap operas and dispels some myths. Don't miss
