A girl should always count the cost before diving into blind dates, suspicious-looking sushi, and/or rabbit suits ...
' I was hooked by this introduction to
Catch a Rising Star
. What follows is the comical story of Tabitha '
Tabby
' Brockman, a Christian who is also a popular soap actress and hopes to be a light in the darkness of the film industry.
I
n the face of unexpected trials, Tabby's faith is tested. Her screenwriter is making her life miserable on the set; a man chosen by her mother as the
perfect husband
is following her around and refuses to believe she isn't interested in him; and a very handsome stage dad is driving her to distraction. On top of all this, she is fighting a continuous battle to keep her character moral in the show. Tabby is driven to ask herself a very serious question: Is this where God wants her?
T
hose who enjoy chick lit with a sense of humor will love Tabby Brockman and her best friends and roommates, Laini and Dancy. They are all bright, personable characters who steal your heart from the beginning with their witty banter and faithful support of each other in the face of all odds. It was fun to take a peek through an actress's eyes and experience what life is like on the set every day, and especially interesting to share in the struggles a Christian would have in
show business
.
Catch a Rising Star
is an enjoyable read, I recommend it!
