T
anya Harris is a happily married wife and mother of three. She loves nothing better than taking care of her family, whether she's cooking or carpooling. Tanya is also an accomplished writer, having published several books of short stories and also soap opera scripts. She is careful, however, to never let her writing interfere with her duties as a wife and mother. Most important in Tanya's life is her husband Peter, their teen son Jason, and twin daughters Molly and Megan. When Tanya's agent calls her with an offer to write a major motion picture screenplay, she's at first reluctant, even though this has always been her dream. If she accepts the job, she would have to work out of Hollywood for the next nine months, and she can't stand the thought of being away from her family for that long, only able to come home on weekends.

at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She soon begins meeting with the director and producer of the movie, and finds herself enjoying every minute of her new adventure. Unfortunately, things at home are not faring quite as well. Megan is still furious with her mother for leaving, and much to Tanya's dismay, Peter begins an affair with their next-door neighbor and soon announces that he wants a divorce. As Tanya's home life slowly falls apart, she takes refuge in her writing, unaware that another screenplay and a new romance are just around the bend.

is no exception. While I found some of the characters a bit on the shallow side - mainly Peter, who went from doting to adulterous husband a little too quickly for credibility - Tanya's story is filled with courage and inspiration.

will make you smile.
