Though not a new book, this sequel to Death at Buckingham Palace is still highly readable. It features Jane Bee, a Canadian working as a housemaid for the Queen. Jane has been sent along with other household staff to care for the Royal family over Christmas and New Year at Sandringham House. After a pantomime, one of the actors (dressed as the Queen and wearing a tiara) is discovered dead of a blow to the head. One thing leads to another, including another death. Jane's visiting father, a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman, gets into the act. Fun. Fun. Fun. The behind the scenes at Royal residences is intriguing, as are the staff. The Queen gets involved. Eventually, after much action and very clever writing, a convoluted ending wraps up the story. I don't know if these books (including a third, Death at Windsor Castle) are the only ones C. C. Benison has written. This author is an accomplished writer. Understand that these books do not have great literary value, but provide good, fun reads to lessen the stress in everyday life.
