did not know that lemons have been with us since very early times. Drawings of lemons have been found on the walls of tombs in the Valley of the Kings!

briefly outlines the history of lemons – each descriptive word making the tongue tingle a little as though tasting the wonderful tartness of fresh lemon juice.

n equally brief Glossary precedes recipes and photographs of the prize citrus.
Tapenade in Lemon Shells
as a starter appropriately begins the recipes.
Cold Lemon Soup with Mint
appeals as a wonderful way to launch a summer meal. An elegant version of pizza –
Lemon Pizza with Crème Fraiche and Caviar
– sounds unrealistic but looks divine. As do
Lemon Sandwiches
. But on reading the recipe, I simply must try these easy-to-make delights.
Zucchini Marinated with Lemon and Mint
is another must-try.
