aith NightStar of Psy Clan NightStar is considered the most powerful F-Psy of her generation. Her ability to foresee the future has made her one of her clan's most valuable commodities. For as long as she can remember, she's lived in cold silence and solitude, having little interaction with anyone other than her few handlers. Physical contact or emotional overload could destroy her sanity, unacceptable to the Psy council who hope to one day tempt Faith into their powerful inner circle. Faith, however, wants nothing to do with the council. She is currently concerned about her sister's recent death as well as the bloody and violent visions she's been experiencing. They point to an unbalanced mind whose appetites for blood and death are escalating. Faith knows that another of her clan has broken free and found a new life among the changelings. Craving that same freedom, she leaves her compound and sets out to find the woman who may have the answers Faith needs to save her sanity.

aughn D'Angelo is Dark River clan's most effective sentinel; he's a loner by nature whose dark past and preference for his jaguar side makes him an ideal hunter and, when the need arises, the perfect killing machine. When he first encounters Faith in restricted Dark River territory, he's certain she's a spy who means harm to Sasha Duncan, his Alpha's mate. His senses soon reveal that she is no threat, rather an innocent who has no idea how to deal with the outside world. His overriding animal side finds her strangely compelling and physically alluring, leaving Vaughn shaken and eventually realizing that Faith is his mate. Once their unbreakable bond is established he will do anything to claim her as his own, including protecting her from the Psy who demand she return to her world of solitude and silence.

Visions of Heat
delves deeper into the intricate worlds of both Psy and changelings as well as introducing new characters who will factor into future stories. Singh's characters, both lead and secondary, are well drawn. The raw animal emotion of the changelings vs. the cold control of the Psy makes for an intriguing and tense dynamic that results in plenty of conflict, not only between and within the clans but also emotional conflict between Faith and Vaughn. Their sexual tension sizzles as they work hard to understand their attraction and the intricacies and dangers of their mate bond.
Visions of Heat
is an engaging sequel in a unique paranormal romance series.
