If that's the case, remedy it immediately! Pick up one of the books and you'll read many folksy truths that make one take a harder look at one's own life. At the same time, Smith's gentle and soothing words solve some of life's riddles, including those mysteries that arise in the quiet life of Precious Ramotswe of Botswana, Africa. Do obtain a copy now of any of the series, preferably the first, to acquaint yourself with Precious and those around her. It is time well spent. Would I ever steer you wrong? In this second book of the series, Mma Ramotswe is asked to find out the fate of a woman's son, to discover whether a man's wife is cheating on him, to assess her secretary's skill, and to make a decision on where to live after marriage. She acquires a diamond ring and two children! Her reading of a situation and her relentless pursuit of the truth make her a very determined woman. Her softness and insight make her a very charming and compassionate one. Alexander McCall Smith's work is a must on your to read list.
