r. Mick Larsen has always been the black sheep of the family. He never wanted to be a doctor but felt he had to do as the family expected. Now, after a tragedy, he has given up his psychiatric practice in the city and returned to his home town to be a farmer.

aroline is mortified to see that someone has moved into the Rogers farm, as she was to be given first dibs when it was to be sold again. She stops at the farm to see who bought it and finds Mick desperately trying to remove a raccoon from his new house. Since Caroline grew up there, she has a few tricks up her sleeve and comes to his aid. The chemistry between Caroline and Mick is instant.

hen a stalker starts using Caroline's photographs as a guideline to vandalize landmarks, Caroline enlists Mick to help, but he is wary, having lost confidence in his abilities. He wants to settle down with Caroline and start a family, but she is excited about her career, which will entail a large amount of traveling. And in the back of her mind, she worries over her biological mother's suicide that stemmed from love lost.

is a fast paced story loaded with excitement, adventure and the passion of a bright new love. Mick and Caroline are well developed characters and you fall for them right away. The issues keeping them apart are realistic and you want them worked out so the leads can be together. Susan Crandall captures the powerful emotions of her characters and brings them to life for the reader.
