uring the summer before her senior year at high school, Angel Hansen makes a mistake that will change her life. Attending a Back-to-School Party, Angel plans to spend the evening hanging out with Danny Stanton, her crush since freshman year.

ut Ricky D'Amico, the hostess, has other plans for Danny that night. When she spirits him away, Angel finds herself drinking too much and finally leaves the party with Tim O'Mara, someone she doesn't even like. That is the night she loses her virginity and her reputation.

ast forward through the start of school. Angel realizes that she is pregnant and she talks to Tim for the first time since the night of the party. She asks him to pay for her abortion. Reluctantly, he comes through with the money, but requests a receipt to make sure she goes through with it.
