They all have fond memories of their experiences, and when they discover the camp is having difficulty staying open, decide to attend a reunion to help fix the place up again. Millie and Lydia are already in their 'hot flash fifties' and Dede is hovering on the edge. All of their lives are at a crossroads: Dede has just broken things off with her longtime boyfriend, Lydia has recently lost her husband, and Millie has gone through a divorce. What a great time to take a cross country trip in Lydia's breaking down motor home from New England to Colorado. They all agree to make this two weeks full of memories that will last a lifetime. Fortified with chocolate, maps, a quirky bird, and three very different personalities, the women set off on a wild adventure. The road to good works is not paved smoothly, and these ladies have to overcome personal struggles as well as interesting challenges that arise while traveling together in such close quarters. rv there yet? is a funny story to which women will relate. Dede, Millie, and Lydia have unique and easily identifiable personality traits, yet they all have something in common. Throughout their journey, they need to learn how to trust God more and give up their own control over life. Many of their circumstances force them into doing just that. Dede has concerns about her love life and her business. Millie feels like she's getting phased out of her job. Lydia frets about what she will do now that she's alone. Common situations, but heartfelt and gentle solutions are presented. Occasionally, the circumstances are a bit contrived and clichéd. It's pretty obvious that the stalker motorcycle gang members are not who the women think they are. The reader can see that coming from a mile away, yet the characters in the story are clueless. Other than that, rv there yet? is a sweet read about a group of mid-life women having a grand adventure. Readers can live vicariously through the characters, or use their experiences as inspiration to do a similar thing themselves.
