elilah Darling is 29 years old, single, and easy. None of this is too big a concern until she reads that the number of men she has slept with is twice the national average. After drunkenly sleeping with her disgusting boss, and reaching the number twenty, she decides enough is enough. Her number will go no higher. With celibacy not an option, she uses some unplanned

(after recent layoffs), and hits the open road to track down every old boyfriend and make a relationship stick.

elilah's adventures in Karyn Bosnak's

are both hilarious and touching. Before embarking, Delilah makes her list of boyfriends, including names and dates (as best she can remember) and entitles the list

to make is seem less trampy. To make matters more interesting, Delilah has some help in her adventure. She's hired her good looking neighbor Collin, a struggling actor who bartends and does a bit of detective work on the side. On her cross country trip Delilah meets up with her exes only to discover several are gay, have entered the priesthood, are in jail/rehab, or are now obnoxious Amway salesmen. All of Delilah's adventures are set against the backdrop of her younger sister Daisy's wedding.

s Delilah continues her quest for a good relationship, she is forced to negotiate her past. As she does, she begins to understand herself a bit more, and to realize that sometimes love just isn't about the numbers. True love occurs when you are honest with yourself and ready to accept a relationship.
