A comprehensive study and lesson plan guides you towards fluency in Japanese using examples taken from manga and contemporary spoken dialect. To get the full impact of Japanese in Mangaland 3, you must be proficient in reading Hiragana and Katakana. This makes it an excellent refresher course for those who can read Hiragana and Katakana and speak Japanese, as well as a great way to learn to speak Japanese with more fluidity and confidence. This in-depth textbook with lessons reminds me of a college study book. Japanese in Mangaland 3 makes a great addition to college Japanese language classes, as well as being useful to individuals wanting to hone their skills through grammar and conversational study. From basic conjugations offered in a general table, vocabulary, grammatical patterns, to particles, and comparisons to formal and every day speech, manga examples help make your textbook study of the Japanese language pleasurable, precise and thorough. However, you must know how to read Japanese in order to progress to this level. Kanji is not all that necessary but Hiragana and Katakana are a must. If you plan to work in Japan or wish to make your Japanese conversation more accurate and better understood by native speakers, then this book is for you. Manga and sentence examples (with corresponding word for word English translations) help you become more fluent in the language. The book contains 'all the grammatic patterns, kanji and vocabulary required to pass level 3 and 4 in the Japanese language proficiency test to assess Japanese knowledge of non-native speakers.'
