In the previous episode, Dawn, Firestar led the Clans in an exodus from the forest, destroyed by human machines, to a new lakeside territory (discovered by a group of cats from each Clan who went on quest together) as promised by prophecy. The boundaries between Clans that thinned during the quest and the exodus, steadily grow strong again as they pick territories and leave scent markers on the edges. We see each Clan find its new camp. Brambleclaw resents the fact that, despite all he has done, Firestar does not name him as the new deputy, but rather clings to the belief that his old friend still lives and will escape the Twolegs who captured and caged him. Brambleclaw also becomes curious about his half-brother Hawkfrost, but their mutual interest creates a rift between Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw who does not trust Hawkfrost, especially after he helps stir trouble about the WindClan leadership. Brambleclaw also begins to dream of Tigerstar, and his half-brother shares those dreams. Healer Leafpaw is attracted to the surly Crowfeather. She also worries about finding a special place in this new territory for Clan leaders and healers to 'share tongues with StarClan'. And she hears a voice in her dream, saying 'Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red.' Then she has a sign from StarClan that leads her to an important discovery - and a new name. While an absorbing read for the growing legion of Warriors fans, Starlight was not quite as exciting as many previous episodes, as it spent some time setting the stage for what looks like another major conflict to come in Twilight, where we're told 'for one beloved cat, the end is coming all too soon.'
