T
hank Heavens! Andy Carpenter has another case. David Rosenfelt has come up with another exciting and outrageously funny tale of Andy's latest escapades.
L
aurie, the love of Andy's life, has moved from New Jersey to take a job as a top-ranking cop in the town of Findlay, Wisconsin. Convinced that his grieving over her loss will some day end, he is nonplussed when she calls him to ask for assistance in a case. A young man has been arrested for the murder of two college students and Laurie is not completely sold on his guilt.
W
ith great misgivings for his personal life, Andy travels to Wisconsin with his sidekick Tara (a Golden Retriever). And he falls into a situation in Center City – a town very near Findlay but apart from it all the same.
R
osenfelt has delivered another tightly written plot that abounds with excitement and finely tuned characters. He manages to retain a delicious sense of humor throughout the whole novel, a feat that is hard to do.
Dead Center
is his fifth book and I for one hope that he continues this highly readable series.
