Stella Powers finally has landed the movie role of her dreams in Hollywood. She heads home to visit her mother in her old New Jersey home town of Homewood. When her mother dies unexpectedly, Stella must decide what to do with her childhood home - and also has to deal with tabloid tales of a liaison between her new husband, Rocker Eddie Skinner, and her daughter's nanny.

Her life in a shambles, Stella decides to stay for a while because her six-year-old daughter Idaho loves living in Homewood. Her money is frozen when she decides to divorce her husband and she has been replaced by Katie Holmes in the movie role. Stella connects with old friends, one of whom is running for town mayor. She meets Henry Sladowski who has been refurbishing old homes in the town to glitz it up. This is causing taxes to skyrocket, making the townsfolk unable to afford living in their beloved town, so when Henry decides to run for mayor, it puts Stella between a rock and a hard place.

Suburbanistas is a charming story with characters who are real to life. Readers will connect with the small town feeling of friends who can hook up again even after a long separation, and rehash the issues that kept them apart. The secondary characters have a great storyline that keeps the story rolling at all times. Pamela Redmond Satran crafts another great read that you will not regret just chilling out for an afternoon to read.
