W
ayne Gould, who first came upon
Su Doku
(which translates to
number puzzle
) in a Tokyo bookshop, created the puzzles in this book, organizing them into four groups -
Easy
,
Mild
,
Difficult
, and
Fiendish
(answers are provided at the back).
E
ssentially,
Su Doku
puzzles are 9x9 matrices, which are viewed as rows, columns and 4 groups of 3x3 boxes. Each puzzle comes with a scattered set of numbers filled in, and has a unique solution, by which all the numerals from 1 to 9 appear in every row, every column, and every box, only once in each set.
