Drugs, mayhem, stalking, murder, house invasion, and, yes, even kitten kidnapping surface after a simple punch in the nose. Trying to recover her emotional balance and the use of her blown shoulder, Nina seems remote and unfeeling to her family. When the chips are really down, can she deliver? They are well-written and suspenseful books that uncover the darker side of life, with characters who seem larger than life.
