is a fascinating novel, which lays bare the ambitions and delusions of the colonial rulers. It's written with humor and a keen sense of observation. The suspense, philosophy, action, and array of characters make for an excellent story - well told.

ased on historical facts, this masterpiece is part of a trilogy, which includes
Troubles
, about the Irish Rebellion of 1916, and the
Singapore Grip
set just before World War II. The three novels paint a startling picture of the arrogance and follies of the British, which heralded the beginning of the end of their wide spread Empire.
