Liz Sawyer and her daughter Cokey move back in with Liz's parents following her divorce. She reconnects with her childhood friend, Maria. But after spending some time with Maria, Liz is uncomfortable with the talk of ghosts and fetishes.

Indian artist Clyde Hawkins was married to an Anglo who hurt him deeply. Liz finds her attraction to him hard to deny but she's also wary of his culture's beliefs. This creates a problem for the couple, since there are suspicious happenings around them. As romance grows between them, danger also stirs in the future for Liz.

Mary Verdick writes a story involving romance and history as well as supense. Characters are well developed and realistic. I enjoyed the insights into the Indian culture. Indian Time is a very quick read that had me wondering until the very end what was going to happen.
