Ted Lee has lived in a loveless marriage for many years. He cares about his wife but their relationship is more one of companionship than passion. He works the swing shift and she works first shift, a tolerable situation for two people who don't have strong emotions for each other. In a short time, the lives of these four people will be connected by a horrifying crime. And in a race to save a little boy's life, Ted will find himself admiring the strength that Fernanda displays. This is a fast paced suspense novel that captures your attention with gripping feelings of fear for Fernanda. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the ending. Danielle Steel does it again with a story of strength, courage and love, that shows us how strangers can pull together to help one another. Ransom is a must have for the beach tote this summer.
