This new cookbook is an answered prayer for everyone who has been following the guidelines in The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom. Even if you haven't, this cookbook provides simple, nutritious recipes to please anyone attempting a healthier, more balanced diet.

In Part I, Dr. Phil outlines the basic principles of High-Response Cost, High-Yield foods and cooking. Two weeks' worth of menus utilizing the recipes from the cookbook are included, so that readers can more easily plan meals. Part II contains full color, close-up photographs of the finished dishes: Soba Noodle Salad, Seared Tuna Salad, The New BLT, and Grilled Vegetable Wrap, just to name a few. Chapters are categorized as: Breakfasts, Lunches, Entrées and Side Dishes, Snacks, Desserts, and Holidays and Special Occasions.

The exciting thing about the recipes included in this cookbook are that they use common ingredients that most people will already have in their homes. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the nutrient analysis is printed at the top of each page to help with meal planning. Here are some more of the delicious offerings: Italian Roast Pork Loin, Macaroni and Cheese, Enchiladas with Barbecued Greens, and Rosemary Mashed Potatoes. For the dessert lover, we have Grasshopper pie, Banana cream pie, and Mocha Fudge Pudding.

The recipes I have tried from the cookbook have been wonderful and well-received by my family. Most commented that the food did not taste "healthy", and the portion sizes are large enough to satisfy even the hungriest eater. Since eating more nutritious foods is a lifestyle change, rather than a diet, good taste is a key. The Ultimate Weight Solution Cookbook provides the tools and incentives to help make those important changes without leaving you feeling deprived.
