pencer's wife Lynn is Carley De Carlo's stepsister. Lynn asks Carley to prove that she was not involved, and the latter agrees after Lynn's New York home is torched. She joins a team writing a story about Nicholas Spencer. When their investigation takes them to the town where Nicholas grew up, they discover that someone took the early experiments. Is Nicholas really dead or did he fake it? Marty Bikorsky, heartbroken by his daughter's diagnosis of cancer, talked to Nicholas about the vaccine, but the girl seems destined to die. Marty, who takes midnight rides, finds himself the main suspect in the Spencer Mansion arson. Charles Wallingford and Adrian Garner were ready to market the vaccine when everything fell out from under them. Nicholas's personal assistant Vivian seems to know more than her job description requires. Ned, who lost his wife Annie in an accident and blames it on the Gen-Stone scandal, is out for revenge.
