The Chocolate Cat Caper is a delicious morsel of a book that will be especially enjoyed by chocoholics. It's a debut offering from Joanna Carl.

Lee McKinney leaves Texas and her husband to join her aunt in a Michigan resort town, in order to keep the books for Aunt Nettie's small gourmet chocolate business. Unfortunately, a famous lawyer client of Aunt Nettie's dies of cyanide poisoning after ingesting part of one of Nettie's gourmet truffles. It goes from bad to worse at this point. Everyone seems to be a suspect because the lawyer was universally disliked in the small town. Lee strives to clear her aunt's name – as well as her own.

As in most cozy mysteries, the guilty person is caught and life continues with very few ruffles appearing on the surface. The Chocolate Cat Caper is a fun book, quickly read. It's the kind of pick up you need when the day's events have gotten you down. And an added bonus is the wonderful chocolate trivia included - everything you ever wanted to know about chocolate and then some.
