The Travel Detective claims of its contents that 'People Who Fly for a Living Reveal Insider Secrets and Hidden Values in Cities and Airports Around the World'. Taking big cities in alphabetical order, from Anchorage to Washington, D.C., and from Amsterdam to Venice, Greenberg provides incredible travel info right at your fingertips - like what restaurant to eat in when in Vancouver; where to find a hang glider ride in Orlando; how not to get scammed by a cab driver in Istanbul.

Like Thai food? Greenberg suggests the best place in Los Angeles to satisfy your craving. The Travel Detective is a paperback, light and easy to carry with you. Or you can tear out the appropriate pages for your trip. Sacrilege! But I know it's done. Peter Greenberg spoke to flight attendants, pilots, pursers and cockpit crews, stewards and stewardesses. He picked their brains for places to go, what to see when you get there, foods to eat and things to buy, in cities around the world. He has compiled these answers into this handy book to make your travel easier and more enjoyable.

Did you know that ski clothes are cheaper in Germany than in the United States and that everything goes on sale there in February? That in Bankok there is a restaurant named Cabbages and Condoms (at the end of the meal instead of being given an after dinner mint, you are presented with a condom)? Jim Johnson at the Golden Touch Hair Salon is the man to see in San Diego for the perfect haircut. Be sure to try the Pollo Imperial at La Carreta, a Cuban restaurant at Miami Airport.

I could go on and on. But why? Buy the book and do your own exploring. This is one I won't loan to anyone. I love to travel and noticed many tips I wished I had had on various of my own trips. The Travel Detective will pay for itself many times over from the savings of money and time it will afford me.
