Three Reasons for Revenge    by Dervla McTiernan Order:  USA  Can William Morrow, 2026 (2026) Hardcover, CD, e-Book      Reviewed by Hilary Williamson I very much enjoyed Dervla McTiernan's The Murder Rule and What Happened to Nina?, so opened Three Reasons for Revenge with anticipation. It starts in Melbourne, Australia with Detective Sergeant Judith Lee interviewing Alexis Turner, who reports that clinical psychologist Robert Walker assaulted her. Then she disappears. Three people receive odd ribboned packages, delicate flowers tucked into the ribbon. Walker's wife Vanessa, a TV anchor, gets one with a USB drive showing her husband having sex in his consulting room. Is it a deepfake? Next, single father Jack gets one, along with a gun used in a crime. Finally, Elsa, a socialite friend of Jack's, receives hers along with a jar of marshmallows. Judith finds out about the packages and looks for connections between the three individuals. She eventually finds a link to a sociopath with a dark past. Then she receives her box. Jude ends up in a race against time to stop a killer and save a child. Note: Opinions expressed in reviews and articles on this site are those of the author(s) and not necessarily those of BookLoons.
