(translated by Olivia Lasky). The lead is Ingrid Berg, granddaughter of the owner of the family run Glitter Peak Lodge in the mountains of Norway. The story is set up as an advent calendar, one chapter for each day in December.

ngrid was born to climb and made a career of it - that is until a Himalayan avalanche killed a close friend, and she felt responsible. She came home to help Nana Borghild and manage the hotel. She hasn't climbed since. She's happy to be with her grandmother but the hotel has its challenges and she worries about whether or not she can keep the family business going.
R
eaders meet varied hotel staff including facilities manager Aisha Mansour and her delightful small son Hussein. We also get to learn about mouthwatering Norwegian holiday edibles (recipes included) and unique traditions. Then problems start arising, with last minute cancellations and leaky pipes, possibly sabotage. And Nana seems to be avoiding an American guest - why?
T
here's a past mystery at the center of current events, and a developing romance for our lead. Once all is revealed, Ingrid does have a Christmas that really is worth celebrating.
