ean knows Addie can manage the bakery but is concerned to prevent Winchester Wingrove from gaining possession of the Fullbright family's starlight field (where a star had fallen in 1833) that has magical properties. The field now belongs to Tessa Jane, who might be influenced by Winchester.
A
ddie is reluctant to return as she had left for a good reason, but of course readers know that misunderstanding was involved and will get resolved as the story progresses. Similarly, romantic interests will develop and they do, as Addie and Tessa Jane both come together to find happiness and hope once more.
