icole and Tom were childhood sweethearts who married. Their lives changed dramatically when a big lottery left them '
filthy rich
', living a fairy tale. They now own an architect designed, custom built Glass Barn on the border between England and Wales in Gloucestershire, neighboring the Manor House. Nicole loves her new home and they're planning for their first baby.
T
hen Nicole returns from the County Show to find Tom dead in the swimming pool. Devastated, she rushes next door to the Manor House for help from Sasha and Olly, and their housekeeper Kitty. The author lets readers know that Sasha is the best liar Olly has ever known - did they have something to do with Tom's death? Detective Hal Steen and his partner Jen investigate.
T
he story moves five years back in time to reveal Anna Creed in the Manor House (with Kitty as housekeeper) after her husband's death. Kitty encourages her to take Sasha's yoga classes, and Olly and Sasha gradually insinuate themselves into her life and take control of it. An old friend of Tom's shows up, supposedly to help Nicole in her grief - but everyone has a secret.

here are plenty of red herrings in
The Manor House
and all kinds of surprises right up to the final twist of an ending. But the only character I really liked was the dead one.
