Killing of Innocents
is the nineteenth in Deborah Crombie's popular series starring Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent Duncan Kincaid his wife, Detective Inspector Gemma James in London, England. At this stage in the series, they have two sons, teen Kit and young Toby.

s the episode opens, a junior doctor, Sasha Johnson, is stabbed and killed close to the pub where Duncan and his sergeant, Doug Cullen, are enjoying a pint. Duncan consults, Gemma who's on a task force dealing with knife crimes. She and her partner, detective sergeant Melody Talbot, help with the investigation.
A
nother death follows, a man who had worked with the first victim. The author shares a back story with readers, of a traveler from Kinshasa, very ill with Ebola - how can this relate to the murders? They figure it all out just in time to stop another one.

s always, Crombie combines an intricate police procedural with intriguing developments in the lives of all her characters. This is a series well worth following!
