Bones of Holly follows Lady of Bones as the twenty-fifth in Carolyn Haines' popular cozy mystery series starring Southerner Sarah Booth Delaney. Center stage with her is her BFF and PI partner Tinkie.

Having missed a few episodes, I learned that Tinkie now travels with her baby Maylin. They accompany Sarah Booth, along with Coleman, other friends (and haint Jitty), to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi where Tinkie and Sarah Booth are to judge the library's annual tree decorating contest.

Two writers, Sandra O'Day and Janet Malone, are also judges but to say they don't get along would be the understatement of the century. Their well publicized feud and regular eruptions do keep their book sales up though.

As well as the library Christmas trees, this episode centers on Al Capone's rum-running in the 1920s, the mansion he built in Bay St. Louis (now owned by Sandra), and his relationship with adventurous movie star Helene.

When Sandra and her assistant Daryl disappear in the middle of a Christmas party at Capone's mansion, Janet comes under suspicion. She hires Sarah Booth and Tinkie to clear up the matter. They do sort it all out (after being trapped in a mausoleum) and celebrate the holiday in style.
