S
omehow, I hadn't bumped into Robert Pobi's mysteries before this one but he has been writing for a while.
Do No Harm
is the third in his series starring ex-FBI agent Lucas Page. I'll have to go back and read the first two now.
L
ucas is quite the character - a professor of astrophysics, a Renaissance man, a bestselling author, and father of five adopted children. He left the FBI after an explosion lost him an arm, leg and eye! He's happily married to Erin, a physician.
L
ucas is done with the FBI, but they are not always done with him as he sees patterns that others don't. This time, his investigation begins with a pattern that he perceives, after Erin's friend (a talented plastic surgeon) dies by suicide.
L
ucas finds that thirty of Erin's fellow specialists have died by freak accidents and suicide in the last year, too many to make statistical sense. He suspects a very clever murderer, and is desperate for answers once he realizes that Erin is very likely to be next.
H
e does find individuals with a grudge against specific doctors, but they all have alibis. Then he and Special Agent Alice Whitaker are targeted as well. I really enjoyed
Do No Harm
- great lead, constant action, and surprises around every corner. Highly recommended!
