Hidden Treasure
follows
Antique Blues
as the thirteenth in this absorbing series, starring amateur sleuth/antiques expert Josie Prescott. She runs her own successful business, stars in the
Josie's Antiques
TV show, and is married to Ty, a director of training for Homeland Security.
J
osie and Ty have just bought the
Gingerbread House
from Maudie Wilson, who has moved to a retirement home. After the sale, Maudie's niece Celia shows up, concerned about a trunk that was left behind. When Josie finds and opens it, she discovers a jewel-encrusted box containing a statue of a cat. Delivering the trunk to Maudie, Josie finds a kindred spirit and makes a new friend. She advises Maudie on getting the trunk's contents appraised, and hopes to be able to feature them in her TV show.
I
t's an exciting prospect, until a dead body is found in Maudie's room at the retirement home, and both Maudie and the trunk's valuable contents are missing. While all this is happening, Josie is also running her business, helping her best friend Zoe with personal problems, fending off her journalist brother Wes's enquiries, and sorting out her new home. As we expect, she manages all with her usual aplomb.
