Repo Virtual
is set in a dystopian future, in the city of Neo Songdo, where virtual overlays obscure a grim reality. The lead, Julius Dax (JD) is a repo artist, who survives by stealing what he can. He also spends a great deal of time in the simulated universe of VOIDWAR, played by millions worldwide. His day job is one repairing robots.
J
D is approached by his brother Soo-hyun to undertake a big repo job for cult leader Kali, the theft of '
a piece of software that will change the world
' from wealthy, brilliant Zero Lee. JD eventually agrees, and succeeds, but betrayals abound and what he has stolen is not at all what he expected, and certainly not something that he can entrust to Kali.
Z
ero Corporation blackmails ex-US operative Enda Hyldahl (wanted by the People's Republic of China for war crimes) and sets her on the trail of the stolen property. What will she do when she finds it and JD?
Repo Virtual
is a complicated, yet most intriguing read.
