as the thirtieth in M.C. Beaton's popular series starring formidable PI Agatha Raisin (now the star of a hit TV show), who lives in the Cotswold village of Carsely.
I
n the last few episodes, the outrageous Agatha has been feeling her age more and more, with a steady stream of lightning infatuations, while a stable relationship with her old friend and previous romantic interest, Sir Charles Fraith, continues to elude them both.
T
his time, Agatha's detective agency is hired by a company developing a new electric car battery pack to investigate industrial espionage at their head office. Soon afterwards, Agatha finds a severed leg in a hedge by the side of the road, and becomes a laughing stock after it proves to be a fake.
W
hen a bad-tempered, flatulent donkey (of whom Agatha has become inexplicably fond) is blamed for a female employee's death, our prickly PI becomes Wizz-Wazz's strongest advocate, and of course eventually does identify the true killer and the reasons for the sinister shenanigans at the engineering company.

ou can't go wrong opening a cozy Agatha Raisin mystery, which always delivers an entertaining read.
