Three of Lisa Gardner's popular leads - Detective D. D. Warren, vigilante Flora Dane (a serial killer's attempted victim and now a passionate victim advocate), and FBI Agent Kimberly Quincy - come together in her new thriller, When You See Me.

At this stage, Flora has become a confidential informant to D.D.. She has also become close (or at least as close as is possible for her, given her horrific abuse by now deceased Jacob Ness) to nerdy computer analyst Keith Edgar. He's fascinated by true crime and serial killers - and now by Flora. Their relationship progresses at a snail's pace.

When You See Me opens on a five-year-old girl, happily cooking with her mamita, until the Bad Man comes. Readers know we will meet her again, but in what circumstances? The young woman's musings continue throughout the story. Next, hikers in the mountains of Georgia, come upon a human femur bone. It's identified as that of Lilah Abenito, missing for fifteen years.

Kimberley sets up a taskforce and pulls in D.D., Flora and Keith. Was Lilah one of Ness's early victims? They head to the scene, where the plot twists and turns as the investigation progresses. More bodies are found in the woods - are these also victims of the deceased predator? Flora and Keith go off the beaten track on an ATV, following their own instincts, which are good ones.

As always, Gardner gifts her fans an engrossing, exciting, well developed mystery. Flora finally locates the cabin in which she was tortured and the Bad Man gets what he deserves in the crescendo of a conclusion to When You See Me. Definitely not to be missed!
