P
aw of the Jungle
is the eighth in Diane Kelly's popular
Paw Enforcement
cozy mysteries. The series is set in Fort Worth, Texas and stars young police officer Megan Luz and her beloved K-9 partner, Brigit. Megan's boyfriend Seth works for the Fort Worth fire department.
M
egan often takes Brigit on walks to the Fort Worth Zoo, where valuable critters start to go missing. First is a pair of rare hyacinth macaws, soon to be followed by a springbok and eventually even a rare black rhino! A new custodian, who happens to be an ex-convict comes under immediate suspicion, but is he really the perp?
I
n addition to investigating the theft of exotic animals, Megan and Brigit begin to wonder about the number of cases of expensive jewelry being
accidentally
lost in Fort Worth. Naturally, they get to the bottom of both cases, and Megan does also get over her jealousy of a lovely young paramedic who seems to hover over Seth a little too often for her liking.
I
f you enjoy cozies as well as canine mysteries, then give this
Paw Enforcement
series a read - eight entries so far, and this last one ends on a high note for Megan.
