. After being shot in that story, Carver now sees people's auras. Though this can be helpful and informative, it worries him.

The Cutting Room
, in which a serial killer stages his victims in macabre works of art, and uses social media to invite gawkers to his crime scenes. These voyeurs cause the police officers all kinds of trouble.

he brilliant psychopath behind it all seems always a step ahead of the police? How does he manage it? Complicating matters, Lake and Carver are keeping secrets to do with their personal lives from each other. They do eventually come clean though.

he perp's groupies grow in number and threaten the investigators. Tension steadily escalates to an explosive ending that almost ends Carver and Lake, but they manage to have each other's backs, just. The mystery ends on a new cliffhanger for Ruth Lake - I look forward to seeing how it develops.
