Her Silhouette, Drawn in Water
centers on normals fear of telepaths in a near future Earth. It opens on prison planet Colel-Cab, where Bee follows fellow prisoner Chela through a maze of caverns, striving simply to survive and perhaps recover some memory of the atrocity she committed to end up there.
B
ee loves Chela and depends on her for her very survival; but can she trust her? Bee continues to attempt to use her telepathic power, seeking an escape. Though she is painfully shut down each time, she does finally make contact - and remembers - her beloved wife, Jasmine. Ten years have passed but Jasmine helps her to escape and to reconstruct what happened to her, and why.
I
t's very cleverly written, one of the most credible depictions of what it might be like to be a telepath that I have read.
