A Baker Street Wedding is the sixth (following The Baker Street Jurors) in Michael Robertson's Baker Street cozy mystery series. Though I hadn't read any of the previous entries, I found it very easy to catch up on characters and events, and appreciate this one.

The series features barrister Reggie Heath and his brother Nigel (the latter does not appear this time). As this episode opens, Reggie has just married the love of his life, celebrated actress Laura Rankin (the description of whose character and teen years I especially enjoyed!)

After their wedding celebration was disrupted by paparazzi, they flew (in a small plane piloted by Laura) to the remote coastal village of Bodfyn, where Laura once attended boarding school and was nicknamed 'Scarecrow' by her schoolmates. Before they arrive there, readers watch a young actress die on Bodfyn Moor.

Why pick Bodfyn for a secluded honeymoon? Reggie's Baker Street Chambers at 221B Baker Street regularly receives mail addressed to Sherlock Holmes. Using the Chambers to disguise herself before departing for her wedding, Laura found a letter asking Holmes to send Scarecrow to Bodfyn.

After Laura's plane is found crashed and she and Reggie are feared dead, Lois (Reggie's law clerk) investigates with the help of a mysterious busker named Siger, whose talents are positively Holmesian. They eventually do save the day, and in the nick of time too.
