Darkness, Sing Me a Song
as the fifth episode in David Housewright's mystery series starring PI Holland Taylor.
T
aylor still grieves over the death of his wife and daughter long before, and is reluctant to embark on a serious romantic relationship, especially after being badly burned in his last attempt with attorney Cynthia Grey. However, he does have feelings for his neighbor Claire and her delightful daughter Mandy.
T
his time, Holland and his partner Freddie are hired by five top Minneapolis attorneys. Their computers have been hacked and extremely sensitive client information accessed. They want the PIs to prevent publication and don't really care what they have to do to make this happen.
T
he cases involve class action, bribery, a divorce settlement, a rape and a murder. In the latter case, the murderer went free, leaving the PIs with quite a quandary. If they do the job they were hired for, said murderer remains free, and someone is killing lawyers. Clues lead them to a young woman, Hayley, estranged member of a very wealthy, very prominent family.
C
an Holland keep Hayley alive long enough to sort all this out - and duck bullets himself too? Of course he does and he crosses a line or two along the way. I'm looking forward to more of PI Holland Taylor.
