A
uthor Diane Kelly has written a number of books – in various series. With
Dead as a Door Knocker
, she introduces a new lead, real estate agent Whitney Whitaker.
W
hitney has a chance to purchase a run down property for little money. This is where her dreams of buying and flipping a house that she has the expertise to renovate might just have come true. Her cousin takes a chance and joins her in this venture. If her plans don't work out, they will both be destitute.
W
hitney's cat Sawdust discovers a dead body in the grounds of the new/old house! The death becomes more important than fixing up an old house. Whitney determines to find who could have killed the man found in her flower bed. With the disgruntled help of Nashville Police Detective Collin Flynn, she begins a search for a killer.
K
elly has won many awards with her writing. She manages to take a serious subject and find the humor that lies beneath the surface. Her characters are right on. It is easy to see why so many awards have been presented to her, and the mystery will keep you guessing. I look forward to the next novel in this series.
