is the seventh installment of the author's series starring Texas police officer Megan Luz and her very close friend and K-9 partner Brigit. Megan gets an urgent call from her boyfriend Seth, who works for the Fort Worth fire company. A wee baby girl is found at the fire station with sparse clues to her identity – a peace sign symbol stitched into her blanket and the word '
help
' written in string.

arious hard-won clues lead Megan and Brigit to the People of Peace compound. The compound is the home of Father Emmanuel and his followers. The Father keeps his followers close at hand and takes care of their resources. They are not free to live their own lives. They must all do his bidding. Which gives Emmanuel all the monies he could possibly want.
M
egan feels that if this were really the Paradise on earth that Emmanuel claims, why has this small child been banished from the compound? Megan hopes that the clues she and Seth have turned up will be the Father's downfall.

he Long Paw of the Law
will draw the reader into the clever plot within the first few pages. The collaboration between Megan and Seth adds a dab of romance to an already good book. Brigit is right by their sides. I do like stories that contain an animal. After all, they do play a big role in our daily lives. And when they are smart animals, even better.
