continues Faye Kellerman's wonderful series starring Peter Decker and his wife Rina Lazarus. You can't go wrong with this popular novelist's work.

eter is checking on an old complaint of vandalized mailboxes on a rural road in a small town in New York when he comes upon the dead body of Brady Neil. Decker learns that when Brady was a boy his father was convicted of robbing a local jewelry store as well as killing the store owners.

eeling there is probably a connection between the twenty-year old crime and Brady Neil's death, Peter starts investigating and seems to be stymied at every turn. He's working between two neighboring towns and not getting much cooperation. He is no amateur at intensive police work but finds it tough going when he is not getting help from the older cops.

Walking Shadows
takes readers alongside Decker as he does his police work. I felt I was a part of the investigation and enjoyed every minute of it. The story is dialogue driven as it puts the reader right into the action. I like the marriage of Rina and Peter. She is Jewish and lives according to the tenets of her religion. Peter is not Jewish but goes happily along with Rina as he loves her too much to do otherwise.

his is another great novel in an outstanding series. For heaven's sake, don't miss it.
