t the same time, this story further explores Clark's relationships with both Lana and Lex, as he comes into minor conflict with each of his friends. Lana shares ambivalence about her feelings for Whitney (who has enlisted in the Marines) with her best friend, Clark, who doesn't always want to hear these kinds of confidences.
