ack's ex-wife had arranged the gig to help him get back on the right track. Getting on the right track seems like a losing proposition for Jack. ack thinks nothing more could go wrong, and he can dig himself out of the hole he has found himself in. Wishing he could revive his dead marriage isn't a help at all. After a lovely night with his ex, she lets him know in certain terms and tone that idea is dead in the water.

ack survives many meetings with those with whom he would rather not fraternize. As things go from bad to worse, Jack hits on what he feels will be the answer to his woes. Through it all, he never loses his send of humor.
