udith Flanders' Samantha Clair series continues in a fourth novel,
A Howl of Wolves
, which is just as suspenseful and intriguing as the first three. Not to mention the lively wit that surfaces on many of its pages.
S
am appears this time in a '
theatrical thriller
'. She attends an opening night performance in which her neighbors – including their small son – appear as actors. Then the dummy that was to represent a dead character in the play, is revealed to the horrified audience (as well as the actors) to be the dead body of the director of the production, Campbell Davison!
S
am steps in to help solve the mystery of the victim left hanging from a hook onstage. Who would do such a thing? And why? She quickly learns that Davison was not well liked by the cast or crew. Sam can't believe someone would kill just because they didn't like a person. There had to be a better reason.
A
Howl of Wolves
proves to be a good choice to put on the top of your reading pile. It offers a laugh a page, along with a good mystery. What more can one ask?
