Judith Flanders' Samantha Clair series continues in a fourth novel, A Howl of Wolves, which is just as suspenseful and intriguing as the first three. Not to mention the lively wit that surfaces on many of its pages.

Sam appears this time in a 'theatrical thriller'. She attends an opening night performance in which her neighbors – including their small son – appear as actors. Then the dummy that was to represent a dead character in the play, is revealed to the horrified audience (as well as the actors) to be the dead body of the director of the production, Campbell Davison!

Sam steps in to help solve the mystery of the victim left hanging from a hook onstage. Who would do such a thing? And why? She quickly learns that Davison was not well liked by the cast or crew. Sam can't believe someone would kill just because they didn't like a person. There had to be a better reason.

A Howl of Wolves proves to be a good choice to put on the top of your reading pile. It offers a laugh a page, along with a good mystery. What more can one ask?
