n this English village mystery, a resident of an old folks' home appears at the Dale Detective Agency and relates to Samson O'Brien that she is sure someone at the home is trying to kill her.

e takes the news with a spoonful of salt and does his best to calm her down. He is sure she is imagining things. But it soon becomes clear that what the dear old lady told him might, indeed, be real. He belatedly realizes that someone was trying to kill her.

ow on the alert for the safety of those at Fellside Court, Samson sinks into a full blown investigation. He is given a very willing hand in his work by Delilah Metcalfe, who doubles as the interest in his love life.
C
hristmas approaches as a Yorkshire winter sets in, making Samson and Delilah's work harder than they had anticipated. They are determined to discover who is frightening the old folks.
Date with Malice
is a very delightful English mystery.
