Zephyrette Jill McLeod seems to be in the habit of finding dead bodies while working on the California Zephyr. Not that she wants to find these lifeless people. They just seem to appear when she least expects them. This time, the body had been found on a previous trip and now Jill is sure she has had a ghostly experience in the same roomette where she uncovered the last corpse. If you are familiar with this interesting series, you know that the author, Janet Dawson, peppers it with interesting facts about the Zephyr. This is a bonus if you are a train buff, though I found the amount of information about the Zephyr to be a bit off-putting. Jill is recovering from the death of her fiancé and finds the work on the train a good diversion to keep her mind off her loss. She meets the fiancée of the last body she found. They have a lot in common and together determine to find whoever killed the man in roomette four. Could it be the man's ghost that she was sure she heard or is it all her imagination?
